How to market online and convert leads into clients.

So, one of the questions I get asked more often than not is “Hey, how do I get more leads for my fitness business as fast as possible?”

The short answer is – wait for it, wait for it – Facebook. That’s the answer, but the problem is that most people don’t market on Facebook correctly. Actually, they have a better shot of getting abs while drinking a six-pack of beer than making a sale online.

The issue is how most people go about marketing their business on Facebook. You see, most people think they are going to place an ad and people are just going to see it and say, “Hey honey, look at this, just what I’ve been waiting for! Some company that I’ve never heard of wants me to whip out my credit card and give them money right this second. This is awesome!”  Yeah, that’s what we all hope happens, but usually doesn’t.

Well, I’m going to tell you. I’m going to share with you how we generate leads for clients all over the world and how you can too.

Some of these strategies I am going to cover are responsible for saving businesses and even helping our clients open up multiple locations!

So, pay attention and don’t overlook any of it just because it sounds simple or because you think you already know it.

Want to know how some companies can generate $20,000-$30,000 in upfront sales in a couple weeks from one promotion? This is how they do it, keep reading.

It’s not that hard, but it’s a process. And, it’s a process that most are not willing to do.

However, it will work if you take the time to do it.

OK, the first thing you want to be thinking of is getting your prospects to know, like, and trust you. I’ll elaborate more on that in a moment. Can you just place an ad and hit it out of the park? Yes, but it’s not likely.

Our clients who get the best results have built up reputations for giving great content and adding value first before they go for the sale.

Think of it like this: Who are you more likely to give money to?

A friend who is always helping you, gives you advice, and genuinely cares about you, or the friend you haven’t heard from in a long time that has their hand out all of the time asking for money?

I think the answer is obvious, but you’re acting like the second friend when you’re constantly running offers asking for a sale before you’ve added any value.

photodune-6763966-value-xsSo, how do you add value and get prospects to know, like, and trust you? You give them helpful information that they want to consume.

One way to do this is to post quality content on your Fan page 3-5 times a day and engage with your fans.

We post things like articles, videos, recipes, and motivational images. We also ask a lot of questions to encourage our fans to engage with us.

Helpful Tip: Always remember to acknowledge when people are engaging with you. Be sure to respond to comments that people make on your page.

The other key ingredient we have found is that our best clients have between 1,500 to 2,000 or more targeted fans of their page.

When I say targeted, I mean your target audience. So, if you don’t have that many fans, run a LIKE campaign.

Targeted LIKES/Fans are important and easy to get.

Here are the two ways:

The first way is organically. When you’re consistently posting quality content on your page, people are going LIKE, comment on, and share your content with their friends and family, which will increase your fan base.

The second way is to run a simple LIKE campaign on Facebook. We HIGHLY recommend doing this. You can run a LIKE campaign for as little as $5 a day and start building your page.

When we run campaigns for our clients, we usually target women between the ages of 25 and 55 within a 3 to 5-mile radius. However, you should adjust your targeting accordingly.

At this point, you may be thinking: “This is all great, but I need sales now! I don’t have time for this!”

Well, sorry to be so blunt, but that kind of thinking is why you are stressing out and need clients right this second.

If you had a nice base of fans who know, like, and trust you, they would be there for you when you run a promotion. So, start thinking about value and brand awareness (not just selling) and it will pay off for you.Healthy eating

This is how the companies who are killing it do it.

What would you say to a client who came up to you and said: “Yeah, eating healthy food and working out sounds great, but I want to look great now!”

Get my point?

Next thing I want to touch on really quickly before I go any further about Facebook is the importance of having an email list. The same numbers apply. You want to have between 1,500 to 2,000 email addresses or more on your list.

If you don’t have that many, it’s OK. I’m going to share with you a simple way you can start building your list fast.

But, before I get to that, the reason I’m bringing up the email address list is because the same strategies apply. You should email your list several times a week with great content.

When someone on your list gets an email from you, they should be excited to open and read it.  In other words, they should be expecting something awesome.

If you only touch base with your email list every other month and, when you do, it’s to ask them for money, how well do you think they are going to respond?

I love it when I get this comment: “Yeah, but my open rates on my emails suck Carlo!” Hmm OK.  Well, sure they do if you’re not nurturing that relationship.

Don’t be that lousy friend! Seriously, we talked about this.

Here’s an important tip:

Before I ever promote something to my list, I always precede any offer with several days of content.

SUPER IMPORTANT. Always precede any offer you make to your list with several days of quality content. It will increase your success rate. This one strategy alone could be a game changer for your marketing.

Now, let’s do a quick recap. You know the importance of building a great fan base on your page.  You know that in order to get more sales and increase conversions, you need to get your prospects to know, like, and trust you. And, the best and most effective way of doing that is to give them quality content.

strategyI can’t stress how important these strategies are to your business.

OK, so let’s keep going, this is where it gets fun.

If you have less than 1,500 fans and less than 1,500 email addresses, you should run a targeted LIKE campaign on Facebook.

Then, you should focus on building your email list.

Here’s the fastest way to do that:

Run an ad on Facebook to a contest in which someone can win a 2 to 6-month membership at your facility.

To do this, run your ad to a simple landing page where people can enter their email addresses for a chance to win.  And, make sure you have all of your company’s contact information on the page and add some social proof.  This could be a couple of pictures of some clients you have helped.  After you’ve run the contest for a couple of weeks, pick one winner.

KEY POINT: once they have opted in for a chance to win, you immediately start emailing them useful, quality content and introduce yourself.

They need to hear from you as often as possible while they are waiting to see if they have won.  We even offer them a FREE weeklong trial if they come in before we pick the winner!

But, the key point is that you are offering something for FREE, a chance to win something, but, more importantly, a chance for a prospect to see how you run your business.

The second they click on your ad, prospective clients are forming their opinions about your business. So, make sure ads and landing pages look professional. And, make sure you are following up with each and every prospect to build that relationship.

Now, if you have a nice base of fans on Facebook, what you want to do is run an ad directly to an offer and test it out.

Run an ad to an offer that gives potential prospects an opportunity to work out at your facility at a low price. It needs to be an impulse buy. I’m sure you are an amazing trainer and your facility is great, but if people don’t come in to see it for themselves, then it doesn’t matter.

Here is what we do:

Step 1.  We create an ad on Facebook targeting women between the ages of 25 and 55 years old within a 3 to 5-mile radius. When we start out, we don’t select any interests.

Step 2.  We send that traffic to a Landing Page that promotes our 21-Day Program. Basically, a prospect can come workout and attend unlimited classes for 21 days for one very low price, usually between $21 and $67 depending on the area and level of brand awareness.

Step 3.  We follow-up with every single client who visits our page but does not buy. We set up our promotion so that the prospect needs to put in their email address before they can purchase. That way, if they don’t, we can follow-up by email and start building a relationship with them. photodune-12997675-increase-profit-graph-on-white-background-xs
